 Current Activities

  • The Children and Young People's Plan 2009-11 has been published.  Work on the 2011 Plan begins in June 2010 so start thinking about priorities for the years ahead!
  • Westminster City Council has a new Cabinet Member for Children and Young People - Cllr Nickie Aiken.  Read more here http://www.westminster.gov.uk/press-releases/2010-02/new-children-and-young-people-cabinet-member-appoi/
  • The Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 received Royal Assent on 12th November making it law.  This Act makes Children's Trust Boards statutory, extends the number of agencies under a 'duty to co-operate' and gives the Board statutory responsibilities for the Children and Young People's Plan.
  • New governance arrangements for the Children's Trust were agreed at the CYPSP's last Board meeting on 19th January 2010 meeting.  Papers that were discussed are available by clicking on the '19th January' meeting on the right hand side of this web page.  Final terms of reference are available here.
  • 'Integrated Children's Services: Getting the Best for our Children' began implementation through new Locality Teams from September 2009.  Cabinet Member report agreed.  Further information on the project available on the Change for Children extranet site.
  • Two time-limited consultative groups have been running for over a year to work through the detail of these changes.  One is a group with headteachers, PCT and LA; the second is the Voluntary Consultative Group with 7 VCS reps, PCT and LA.
