Title

Westminster Volunteering Strategy launched

Body

The Westminster Volunteering Strategy 2008-16 was launched by Cllr Audrey Lewis on 4th June as part of National Volunteer's Week.

The strategy has three key aims:
  • increase the number of people volunteering
  • improve the capacity of organisations to involve volunteers
  • improve the co-ordination of volunteering in Westminster

There are also cross-cutting objectives to target activity at our neighbourhoods and to promote equality, diversity and community cohesion through volunteering.  These reflect key priorities for the Westminster City Partnership.

A cross-cutting group of partners will be developing and delivering a year one action plan.  Members of the group include:

  • City Council
  • Volunteer Centre Westminster
  • Voluntary Action Westminster
  • PCT
  • Community Network
  • Police

A copy of the final strategy can be accessed below.
